Chinese photographic, performance, and video artist Liu Jin has been invited by Galleri Image to visit Aarhus in May/June 2015 in order for him to work on his art, and make a contribution to Galleri Image and Aarhus Center for Literature's art project FRESH EYES.

In the project: FRESH EYES - International Artists Rethink Aarhus, the city is experienced by photo artists and writers from around the world . The city is viewed with fresh eyes and rethought, visually and poetically through to 2017.

Correspondence is an exhibition located in the field between visual art and literature. Five experimental authors and artists are taking part. They all move entirely naturally between one medium and the other, often on the basis of concrete registrations of reality that are part of their photographic and text-based works.

On November 19th the Aarhus Gallery, Galleri Image, and Aarhus Center for Literature in collaboration with Aarhus Center for Visual Art conducted the all-day seminar FRESH EYES on URBAN SPACE. The seminar focused on how in particular photography and literature can interpret and rethink urban space aesthetically, and artists, poets, architects, and researchers from all over the world will discuss the relationship between art, architecture, and the urban environment.

Saturday October 31st at 2pm four of the artists participating in Correspondence read from their works, Norwegian Victoria Durnak and Audun Mortensen, Danish Christian Yde Frostholm and Amalie Smith. Curator and author Gitte Broeng also participated. The readings took place between the art works at Galleri Image.

The beautiful library of the Aarhus School of Architecture hosted artist talks, exhibitions, and workshops at Photobook Week Aarhus 2015. The festival also offered the opportunity to see and purchase photobooks from around the world, both new and antiquarian.

On September 19th 2015 Galleri Image hosted a mini-seminar featuring Maj Hasager, the artist behind Galleri Image's exhibition We will meet in the blind spot, in conversation with the curator Silvia Litardi (IT). The conversation covered topics touched upon in the film We will meet in the blind spot such as immigration, identity, and the role of art in the telling of the untold stories.

In August 2015 Galleri Image participated along with Fotografisk Center in Photo Collect Copenhagen with an exhibition curated by Mette Bersang. On dsiplay were works by the artists from Ung Dansk '14 - Ida Arentoft, Asbjørn Skou, Julie Born Schwarz og Albert Elm.

The Finnish artist Markus Henttonen will visit Aarhus in august in connection with his work on the artistic project Fresh Eyes – international artists rethink Aarhus. FRESH EYES is a collaboration between Galleri Image and Aarhus Centre for Literature for the European City of Culture Aarhus 2017 project, in which a selection of international photographers and writers are invited to Aarhus in order to experience the town and rethink it visually and poetically.

This August the Swedish artist Hyun-Jin Kwak will visit Aarhus in connection with the artistic project FRESH EYES– international artist rethink Aarhus, in which a selection of international photographers and writers are invited to Aarhus in order to experience the town and rethink it visually and poetically.

For her exhibition at Galleri Image, Lijie Zhang will create an installation in the form of a detailed reconstruction of a typical state official’s office in China. Alongside the office artefacts the exhibition will include a number of Zhang’s photographic works, a video installation with sound and old photographs from the artist’s personal family album.

Saturday the 27th of June Galleri Image is hosting a seminar on contemporary Chinese art featuring artist and associate professor at CAFA Fei Jun, the Art reporter Pei Yan, and the Chinese photographer, performance and video artist Liu Jin.

From 11-16 June the German artist Thomas Kellner will be revisiting the Jutlandic capital to prepare his contribution to the project FRESH EYES – International Artists Rethink Aarhus, which is a cooperation between Galleri Image and Aarhus Centre for Literature. The project was initiated in 2013 and Kellner is the fourth artist to pay Aarhus a visit in connection with FRESH EYES.

As part of Art Weekend Aarhus, Galleri Image was host to a panel discussion between four Polish video artists, who are featured in the exhibition series Territories in the Demo Room at the gallery, together with the curator of the exhibition series, Aleksandra Księżopolska.

Saturday May 2nd the artist Lijie Zhang gave an artist talk at Galleri Image.

On the 28th of March Galleri Image hosted a discussion between the artist David Stjernholm, memory researcher Annette Bohn, and the sommelier Jens Peter Nebsbjerg from MASH. The discussion focused on the concepts of memory and sensation, inspired by David Stjernholm's exhibition Seedless Grapes at Galleri Image.

With Seedless Grapes David Stjernholm has created a custom-made exhibition for the space at Galleri Image. By using the gallery's basement location with its half-timbered interior and narrow passages, he has constructed a presentation, which takes as its unconventional foundation wine and its maturing process.

In connection with the announcement of winner of Hasselblad Award 2015. Galleri Image showcased a range of photobooks by previous award winners.

In Jane Jin Kaisen’s (DK) solo exhibition Loving Belinda criticism is raised regarding how transnational adoption and race is being discussed in Denmark. This critique, comes from an unexpected point of view – Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, an Asian-American couple, whom are the adoptive parents of the white Danish girl, Belinda.

Galleri Image hosted a seminar in collaboration with Aarhus Center for Visual Arts and Aarhus Center for Literature.
The seminar was organized in relation to Jane Jin Kaisen’s exhibition Loving Belinda at Galleri Image. The seminar discussed tactics in contemporary art addressing race, migration and coloniality.
