Galleri Image has once again been invited to The China Pingyao International Photography Festival. This year we will be presenting the Danish artist Michelle Eistrup and her project Wild as the Wind (2010)

For two years Michelle Eistrup had observed, photographed and filmed a herd of wild horses in an open range of beach at Læsø, one of Denmark's many islands. Since it wasn't feasible in any way to control the behavior of the animals, Eistrup had to rely on following and observing the horses' movements largely on their own terms. Two aspects in particular of the horses' journeys came to interest the artist: their use of the beach and their behavior at nighttime. Whereas during the day the horses assumed beautiful sculptural formations (either resting or in movement) at night they danced playfully, and veered off onto unusual hidden paths.

Eistrup has included brand new pieces for this exhibition and will be exhibiting them in a total installation featuring large scale photographs and video.

In addition the works of Danish artists Astrid Kruse Jensen and Joachim Fleinert are a part of the Nordic group exhibition Viewfinders organized by The Danish Cultural Institute in Beijing.
