Workshop during Photobook Week Aarhus

As part of Photobook Week Aarhus (PWA), the German photographic artist Claudia Hausfeld will conduct a workshop in collaboration with Mørkekammeret at Godsbanen. The workshop will take place Sunday September 24th from 1 PM to 4 PM

The workshop will explore the photographic technique called cyanotype, a medium which can be used without dark room or developing chemicals.

The cyanotype can be used to make quick copies of semi-transparant or solid materials such as film, drawings on tracing paper, or plants among others. This is done by contact printing on UV sensitised paper. During the workshop, the participants will learn to coat the paper with light sensitive chemicals and print translucent objects or images by exposing them to sunlight.

Claudia Hausfeld is based in Iceland and her work can be seen in the group exhibition This Island Earth which is currently on display at Galleri Image.

Practical information regarding the workshop:

Materials provided will be: paper, chemicals, brushes, glass sheets, and facilities. There will be a user fee for the materials.
