Galleri Image is proud to present the exhibition simul-scapes by the German photographer Georg Küttinger.

The concepts of classical landscape photography are challenged by Küttinger’s virtual landscapes, which will be shown in Galleri Image from March 31 through April 30, 2006.

Georg Küttinger reflects on and experiments with photography’s two-dimensional constructions of time and place.

Each individual work is a combination of up to 50 photographs that are manipulated and sampled so that they become reborn in a single panoramic landscape. The combination of the multitude of vanishing points and segments creates a complex net of perspectives and overlaps, where the individual, sensitive landscape rhythms together form the simul-scape.

Küttinger’s puzzling three-dimensional simulated landscapes lure the viewer into time travel deep within the recesses of recollection.

Georg Küttinger was born in 1972 and educated as an architect. He has held a number of one-man shows in Germany, but simul-scapes is his first one-man show abroad.
