"PORTER UNE PHRASE"
("JE T´ AIME")

In the video "Porter une phrase"
("Je t'aime"), a television screen and a laptop are conjured
up for the viewer, located in garbage. A paperprint has been attached
to both screens bearing the text "Je t'aime", and the
video shows these being transported from Place de la Bastille, the
starting point of all major demonstrations in Paris, to the Louvre,
generally regarded as the art world's holy of holies.
Edduin Gonzalez, an artist and writer,
was born in Panama 1974, and now resides in Paris. He has worked
in different media including drawing, painting, video, performance
art and poetry. Focussing on the poetics of the sublime, he frequently
utilizes a strategy of repetition. Gonzalez has collaborated in
the past with the artistic collective The State of L3. His work
has often been exhibited in public spaces.
