"[RETROSPECTIVE]"

The installation [RETROSPECTIVE] is with its references to the photograph and its black and white nostalgia of frozen time, an image of bygone values. A scenario, which is associated with the epitome of danishness, is in its presence made colourless and is thereby characterized by the eternal 'has been' in the photograph. Thus the work puts into question the notion of these values continued eligibility in Denmark today.

Astrid Winsløw Hammer is a contemporary artist, graduated from The Jutland Academy of Fine Arts 2005. She works with idea-based non-media-specific art projects which take their starting point in critical contextual thinking. She is also head and principal teacher of BgK Storstrøm.
